A rare English wooden cribbage game board with a view of Brighton Pavilion dating from the reign of George IV, 1820 to 1830. The octagonal shaped board stands raised on four original ball feet with a hollowed-out compartment to the base with a simple screw held swivel cover the compartment containing four original gaming pins painted in pink and green. The board is decorated with a central scene of Brighton Pavilion set within a black border inside a pink floral painted surround with the pierced gaming holes around the outer edge.
Provenance: from an important private collection of game related items amassed over many decades.
The board is offered in good original condition with wear associated with age and use.
