They were made in continental Europe, possibly Denmark, or somewhere close and they are quite early, dating from around the 1790-1820 period, or even earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The quality is outstanding, they have gorgeous and intricate carving depicting eagles heads on the backs, the legs are also beautifully carved.<\/p>\n<p>We have had them re-polished and re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric, retaining the original horse hair stuffing.
