This early swivel desk chair designed by Charles Eames and retailed by Herman Miller was designed with the early flattened footing and retains the original glides under each foot; this was changed for a longer posted foot in later designs. The stitched tweed blue covering is original and remains serviceable and comfortable; it retains the original upholstery tags and license stamps. The chair is crafted using die-cast aluminum for the upper body with a glossy clear coat seal, the fixed aluminum stem with a baked enamel finish. Under the U-shape seat brace is the patent stamp for Herman Miller.
