A very well made and decorative piece, it is over sized at nearly a meter wide, it would have most likely hung over a fire place in pub or in a library / study as a reminder to good times with friends
Its seems to show the chap on the left telling a joke and the chap on the right falling out of his chair with laughter, in between them is a table with drinks, the setting is very gothic 16th to 17th century
The piece was stripped some time ago, I’m not sure when, it shows the grain and burrs of the oak nicely
The condition is exactly as pictured, you can see some shrinkage splits but otherwise its sublime

Condition
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
