This Spode London shape cup and saucer is decorated with continuous bands of gilding on a pink ground. There are also gilt bands of stylised foliage to the inside of the cup and to the centre of the saucer. This pattern (pattern 3565) was introduced in 1823, whilst the base of the cup also carries the hand painted Spode mark in red. There is some very minor wear to the gilding. It would date from the period 1822-33.
