This pair of antique covered sauce tureens are hallmarked by an unknown maker, but originated from England and date to approximately 1820 and done in the period Georgian style. The tureens are composed of sterling silver and have artichoke finials and tasteful beaded decoration around the lid and base. The front panel has an engraved crest and both are clearly hallmarked with the lion passant for English sterling silver.
