Hallmarked in London in 1799 by William Pitts, this stylish, George III, Antique Sterling Silver Soup Tureen, features unusual double scroll handles, four acanthus detailed feet, an engraved crest and motto, and a gadroon border.
The soup tureen measures 11.5″(29cm) tall, by 14″(35cm) wide, by 9″(23cm) deep, and weighs 99.4 troy ounces.
The motto translates as ‘I have borne and done many things’ and is likely that of the Arkwright family.
