Based on a very similar work of art, signed St Aubin, currently on the market in Paris, this could be Alejandro ST AUBIN Y BONNEFON, a Spanish painter born in Madrid on January 20, 1857 and died in the same city on May 24, 1916. He was a student of LIZCANO, he mainly painted characters and genre scenes, views of lively towns or villages, and was also an art critic. A painting by him is kept at the Galerie Moderna museum in Madrid.
