A late Georgian mahogany wheel barometer with satinwood marquetry inlay by Bates of Kettering.
The mahogany case has satinwood stringing and marquetry shell and sunflower inlay decoration and is crowned by an architectural pediment with central brass finial.
The eight inch circular silvered and engraved scale is signed ‘E Bates Kettering’. There is an inset thermometer to the throat.
