A very well made and decorative piece, it is over sized at nearly a meter wide, it would have most likely hung over a fire place in pub or in a library / study as a reminder to good times with friends

Its seems to show the chap on the left telling a joke and the chap on the right falling out of his chair with laughter, in between them is a table with drinks, the setting is very gothic 16th to 17th century

The piece was stripped some time ago, I’m not sure when, it shows the grain and burrs of the oak nicely

The condition is exactly as pictured, you can see some shrinkage splits but otherwise its sublime
