Small 1790 British woodcut book plate print on laid paper by John Bewick (1760–1795) England, younger brother of Thomas Bewick. Printed for Proverbs Exemplified and published by the Rev. J. Trusler, and sold at the Literary-Press, 1790. Proverb shows demons among the pigs, was never bound in the book as it lacks the heading “Great Cry, and Little Wool”. Unframed, image size 2 1/8″ x 2 3/4″, some foxing, adhesive remains at corners, corner loss upper right.
