Rare Gillows Lancaster 1789-1795 George III American Walnut Dining Table

A very rare and highly collectable table, fully stamped to the base Gillows Lancaster and with the order number L4953. This table can be used as you see it pictured with the half moons on either end. The five main body pieces are all finished around the edges, as such they can be used as five separate tables, you can add and remove sections as per your needs. The tables can be turned sideways making a 106cm deep and enormous 760cm (25 feet) long table, naturally this way you can’t use the end demi lune leaves

The stamps to the base can accurately be dated using Volume I Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840 page 95 reference archive

The tables has been fully restored, the plan with the restoration was to keep the original patination to the base to show the honest 230+ years of use whilst making the top as presentable as possible. As such you have a glorious timber grain and patination to the mahogany

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
