An exceptional George III shagreen cased tea caddy box with silver ball and claw feet, foliate chased silver key hole escutcheon plate, decorative scroll form handleplate and handle with monogrammed cartouche, and a velvet lined fitted interior incorporating a pair of hallmarked sterling silver Rococo bombe´ form footed tea caddies with hinged tops, each with floral finials and exceptional chasework. Each caddy is hallmarked “A.S,” made by English silversmith Albartus (or Albert) Schurman, and inscribed “1761”. The box and caddies are in very good condition, with some restorations, minor imperfections, and expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: Box 7 in H x 10.5 in W x 4.75 in D; Caddies: Each are 5.5 in H x 3.75 in W x 3.25 in D.
